The Conduit

3 July 2009 No Comment

This last weekend I was lucky enough to have a very generous wife who bought “The Conduit” and the Nyko Perfect Shot for me.( Thanks hun, I love you!) This game has been on my list of “buys” for a long time, so I got it the weekend after it was released (released on June 23rd, 2009). I have created a profile and started the campaign, and so far the game is great. This is my first “shooter” on the Wii so I am still getting used to not moving the Wii remote away from the screen, but I am slowly getting used to it. The graphics on this game are the best I have seen so far, still not quite Xbox 360 or PS3 worthy, but still, very good for what the Wii is capable of.

Some of the coolest features of this game is the controller layouts. The developers of The Conduit asked the gamers to make up configurations and send them in, they then picked the best layouts and gave them names. They also let you completely change the controls if you want, totally awesome!  The only problem I have seen so far is that it is tough to use the Nyko Perfect Shot in the game. The toggling between weapons, zooming in and out, jumping and crouching cannot all be used without having to use the top of your Wii remote.

The game campaign seems like it isn’t going to be too long. I have been playing for about 2 hours, and it shows that the campaign is 25% completed. There maybe more that will be unlocked, but as of now, it does not look that way. Expect a full review of the campaign and multiplayer within the next week.
